Pain has many origins. It can be neurological, muscular, inflammatory or even psychological.

Cannabinoids act on a set of receptors (the endocannabinoid system) whose primary purpose is to maintain the body in a state of homeostasis. A state of optimal equilibrium. [1]

But what is CBG, CBD's cousin?

CBG is less well known, as it is rare. It is found in small quantities in hemp flowers, as it is the precursor of all other cannabinoids. However, the "mother cannabinoid" is the subject of a number of studies, notably in relation to its action on the inflammatory response. 

As an example, scientists have concluded that CBG could be used as a complementary treatment to reduce inflammation in people suffering from polyarthritis. A chronic inflammatory disease for which there is no treatment. 

In any case, although research is still incomplete, CBG's anti-inflammatory mechanisms are increasingly well understood and associated with pain reduction.

What form of CBD is most effective?

Oils, candies, herbal teas... CBD pain relief products come in all shapes and sizes! But which is the most effective?

🥇CBD oil is rapidly absorbed by the mucous membranes of the mouth and only partially degraded by the liver. It therefore offers excellent bioavailability, making it the best product of all. 

🥈CBD candies are very convenient, as they come pre-measured. However, they are digested, which slightly reduces their effectiveness. They are recommended for people with mild to moderate pain. 

🥉As for herbal teas, their effect is very limited, as they generally contain very few active molecules. What's more, for the body to absorb them, you need to add a little fat to the infusion, which isn't to everyone's taste!

The most common questions we receive

1How do I take CBD oil?

The best way to take CBD oil is sublingually: place a few drops under the tongue and let the mucous membranes absorb the active molecules. In this way, you benefit from optimal bioavailabilityas you avoid the degradation of cannabinoids by the liver.

2How many drops are needed to reduce pain?

The number of drops depends on the CBD concentration of the oil. 

10% oil = 5 mg CBD/drop

Oil 20% = 10 mg CBD/drop

Oil 30% = 15 mg CBD/drop.

Next, you should know that it is generally recommended to start with 0.5 mg CBD / kg body mass. That's 25 mg if you weigh 50 kg. 

Please note that this calculation is for guidance only. If you don't feel any effect after a few days, then you can gradually increase the dose, in increments of 2 drops every 3 to 5 days. If you reach a dose of more than 10 drops/day, we recommend you choose a more concentrated CBD oil.

3How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD on my aches and pains?

It depends on the individual. Some people are more sensitive than others. 

Generally speaking, although your nights may improve immediately, you'll need to wait one or two weeks before you feel any lasting effects. 

Don't forget that CBD acts deep down, at the root of the problem. You can't just wave a magic wand and rebalance your body! 

4At what time of day should I take my CBD oil to reduce my pain?

It depends on the type of pain you're dealing with. If it's chronic pain, then we recommend taking your CBD oil three times a day. This will promote continuous action. 

Cannabinoids take effect after half an hour and remain in the body for around 6 hours.

Note that you can take your CBD oil at any time, whenever the need arises. 

5Full or broad spectrum CBD oil for aches and pains?

These two types of CBD oils can help you rebalance your body and carry analgesic properties. 

Nevertheless : 

  • Full spectrum oil contains traces of THC (less than 0.3%), which is insufficient to cause any psychotropic effects. On the other hand, this may increase the product's effectiveness. In fact, some studies show that full spectrum products are more effective than others, because the hemp molecules act synergistically. This is the "entourage effect" theory. 
  • Broad spectrum CBD oil contains no THC at all. The entourage effect is a little less favored, however, this product is perfect if you don't wish to consume THC. 
6Do CBD oils contain THC and are they psychotropic?

No CBD oil causes psychotropic effects.

However, full spectrum CBD oil contains traces of THC (0.3%). If you don't want to consume THC at all, then choose broad spectrum CBD oil.
