Natural beauty enthusiasts know it: mother nature is good to us. And when you take an interest in plants for the skin, a whole world opens up: aloe vera, calendula, chamomile, rose, cornflower and more.
... And for some time now : hemp has also joined the list of natural ingredients that are good for the skin.
More specifically, these are the benefits of cannabidiol (CBD), one of hemp's two main active molecules (the other being THC), that are attracting the attention of those who prefer natural cosmetics to standard beauty products.

The 5 benefits of CBD oil for the skin
CBD oil is most often hemp seed oil enriched with cannabidiol.
This natural product combines the benefits of CBD with the nourishing properties of hemp seeds. A cocktail that, as you'll see, has everything you need to care for your skin, whatever its type or your age.
#1. Deeply nourishes
As we said earlier, CBD oil is actually hemp seed oil to which cannabidiol has been added.
Hemp seed is particularly rich in in omegas 3 and 6 [1], your skin will be deeply nourished, leaving it elastic and luminous. These ingredients are particularly particularly appreciated by mature skinThey are therefore particularly appreciated by mature skin, which tends to slacken and whose complexion is sometimes dull.
#2. Regulates sebum production
Sebum (along with sweat) forms what is known as a a hydrolipidic film. Its purpose is to keep our skin moisturized, but also to protect it from external aggression.
If sebum is deficientthen the hydrolipidic film is not consistent enough to retain water in the pores. The skin becomes dull, dehydrated and prone to redness. In the opposite case, when the skin produces too much sebum, the film is too thick and encourages the proliferation of infections (acne).
So regulating sebum production is the key to beautiful skin. And CBD can help! Our epidermis is home to cannabinoid receptors with which cannabidiol has a strong affinity.
As you can see from the illustration, some of them are located sebaceous glands. By binding to them, CBD can act to rebalance sebum production and thus restore the skin's protective hydrolipidic film. [2]
CBD oil could therefore help dry, dehydrated skin and dehydrated skin regain their suppleness and elasticity. It could also help oily skinwhose excessive sebum production causes blackheads and blemishes. And you'll be delighted to know that CBD oil is non-comedogenic!
#3. Reduces skin inflammation
Cannabinoid receptors in our epidermis are not only found in the sebaceous glands. They are also present on the surface of Langerhans cells and keratinocytes, which are responsible for the immunological and inflammatory activity of the epidermis. the immunological and inflammatory activity of the epidermis.
Certain skin diseases, such as psoriasisare caused by a dysfunction of the immune system, which triggers an overly aggressive inflammatory response resulting in redness and tingling.
CBD, by binding to receptors located on cells of the epidermal immune system, could regulate the inflammatory response and thus reduce the symptoms of psoriasis and reactive skin.
#4. Anti-oxidant anti-aging effect
Free radicals are the main culprits behind the signs of aging: wrinkles, fine lines and spots. As you no doubt know, one of the ways to combat them is to consume antioxidants. And CBD oil is a veritable cocktail of antioxidants!
Hemp seeds are rich in vitamin Ethe perfect antioxidant for the skin. And cannabidiol also has antioxidant properties. So, if you're looking for a natural anti-wrinkle, CBD oil is a prime candidate!
#5. Re-balancing action
As we saw earlier, our epidermis is home to cannabinoid receptors to which CBD can bind. In fact, this type of receptor can be found throughout the body. This is what we call the endocannabinoid system.
Its role is to maintain our body in a state of balance by regulating our nervous, immune, digestive and endocrine systems.
Thus, the application of CBD could help restore an overall balance, which obviously influences the beauty of the skin. Because, as you probably know, skin is a reflection of our health.

As we said earlier, CBD oil is applied like any other vegetable oil to the skin:
- Pour a few drops on clean skin ;
- Use after your moisturizer if you use one, because if you apply your oil first, your skin won't be able to absorb it;
- Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation: massage your skin with circular movements to help penetrate and relax all the muscles that make up your face;
Remove excess oil with a tissue if you feel the need, but remember that hemp oil is a dry oil that penetrates very easily!
Is CBD oil really effective for the skin?
The question on your mind: does CBD for the skin really work? Unfortunately, whether we're talking about natural cosmetics or not, we all know: marketing is responsible for making us believe in a miracle! And we're often disappointed.
To spare you any frustration, we'll be frank with you: CBD oil doesn't do miracles. If you don't have a healthy lifestyle (balanced diet, regular sleep, alcohol in moderation, non-smoking, exercise, etc.), neither CBD nor anything else can help you achieve beautiful skin.
On the other hand, if you take good care of yourself and your skin, and despite your efforts, your skin remains dull, dry or too oily, then perhaps CBD oil will give you satisfaction through its balancing action. But to do this, test CBD oil for at least 1 full month.
